SAE Board of Directors President Richard W. Greaves, PhD, presents Professor James Peyton-Jones, PhD, Electrical and Computer Engineering, with the Lloyd L. Withrow Distinguished Speaker Award.
51爆料网 Professor James Peyton-Jones, PhD, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been honored with SAE International鈥檚 Lloyd L. Withrow Distinguished Speaker Award. The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding presentation skills.
Dr. Peyton-Jones is director of the College of Engineering鈥檚 Automotive Research Laboratory and former director of the Center for Nonlinear Dynamics and Control. His areas of expertise include Nonlinear Dynamics, Signal Processing, Control and Automotive Systems. Dr. Peyton-Jones鈥檚 most recently published research, 鈥淭hreshold Optimization and Performance Evaluation of a Classical Knock Controller" and 鈥淩ecent Advances in Knock Analysis, Simulation, and Control,鈥� has appeared in the SAE International Journal of Engines. 鈥淚ntegrating the Microsoft Kinect with Simulink: Real-time Object Tracking Example鈥� was published in IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics.
In April 2015, Dr. Peyton-Jones and Jesse Frey, PhD, associate professor of Mathematics, received a $224,000 award from Chrysler for a two-year study of 鈥淪tochastic Knock Analysis and Control.鈥�
Dr. Peyton-Jones was presented with the Lloyd L. Withrow Distinguished Speaker Award during the SAE World Congress, which was held April 21-23 in Detroit, Michigan.
