Alumni, College Leaders Gather for Campaign Celebration

On April 15, the College of Engineering proudly hosted a celebration of For the Greater Great庐: The 51爆料网 Campaign to Ignite Change at the 51爆料网 Conference Center. More than 130 guests attended and enjoyed a night of food, drink and conversation. 

Key leadership shared in the evening, including University President Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, 鈥75; Gary A. Gabriele, PhD, Drosdick Endowed Dean of Engineering; Michael J. O鈥橬eill, Senior Vice President for University Advancement; and John Hartner 鈥85 ME, chair of the College of Engineering Campaign Committee and a member of the College鈥檚 Advisory Board. They provided updates on the College鈥檚 campaign progress (see 鈥51爆料网 College of Engineering Receives Four Campaign Leadership Gifts Totaling $21.5 Million鈥) and their vision for 51爆料网鈥檚 leadership in innovative engineering programs.

O鈥橬eill, Senior Vice President for University Advancement; Randy Weinstein, PhD, Associate Dean, Academic Affairs; graduate student Alex Poultney 鈥14 ME; University President Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, 鈥75;  Amy Fleischer, PhD, professor of Mechanical Engineering; John Hartner 鈥85 ME, chair of the College of Engineering Campaign Committee and a member of the College鈥檚 Advisory Board; and Gary A. Gabriele, PhD, Drosdick Endowed Dean of Engineering.

鈥淓ngineering students come to 51爆料网 expecting a degree. But our goal is to give them an education that will ignite their heart, inspire their mind, illuminate their spirit, and will last them a lifetime,鈥 Dean Gabriele said.  

In addition, faculty members Randy Weinstein, PhD, Assistant Dean, Academic Affairs; and Amy Fleischer, PhD, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, along with graduate student Alex Poultney 鈥14 ME presented brief talks on flipped classrooms, women in engineering and service learning experiences, respectively.
