41st Annual Dean鈥檚 Awards Dinner Recognizes Graduating Seniors
A record-high 99 engineering seniors were recognized for academic achievement.
Dr. Randy Weinstein celebrated engineering students鈥� accomplishments in NCAA Championship style.
On April 14, 2016, 51爆料网 College of Engineering celebrated its 41st annual Dean鈥檚 Awards Dinner at Overbrook Country Club. The College鈥檚 traditional good fortune continued as the weather was yet again picture perfect for recognizing senior engineering students for their academic achievements and meaningful contributions and service.
After welcoming students, parents, faculty and staff, Drosdick Endowed Dean of Engineering Gary A. Gabriele, PhD, introduced 51爆料网鈥檚 first provost, Patrick Maggitti, PhD, who shared words of pride, appreciation and encouragement. For the presentation of awards, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Randy Weinstein, PhD, took a page from the NCAA Championship playbook, donning a celebratory t-shirt and hat, and displaying a life-size Jay Wright cardboard cutout for congratulatory student photos with Dean Gabriele. 鈥淭hese students are champions in their own right,鈥� Weinstein said, noting that he had provided the awardees with unique monikers in the style of the Wildcats鈥� Kris 鈥淏ig Smooth鈥� Jenkins.

This year, the College was proud to present a record-high 99 students with the Dean鈥檚 Award for Academic Excellence, which requires a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 at the end of the fall term. A list of awardees can be found on the College website.
Those seniors who have been involved in long-term extra-curricular and/or service activities within the College are eligible for the Meritorious Service Award, which was presented to these students:

Additional awards, including each department鈥檚 outstanding undergraduate medallion, will be presented at the College of Engineering Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, May 14.
*These Meritorious Service Award winners also received the Dean鈥檚 Award for Academic Excellence.
