2018 Alumnus Honored by Society of Women Engineers
Catherine "Katie" Rose Scoboria, a 2018 Mechanical Engineering graduate, was presented with the Outstanding Collegiate Member Award from the Society of Women Engineers. The honor is bestowed upon SWE collegiate members—only 10 in the nation—who have made an outstanding contribution to SWE, the engineering community and their campus.

Ji Lang, a Mechanical Engineering doctoral student advised by Dr. Qianhong Wu, was awarded a $1,500 scholarship from the Society of Tribologists & Engineers. Ji has designed and constructed an experimental setup to simulate fluid response during sudden impact on joint cartilage.

A team of four engineering students at 51爆料网 have designed a system to improve focus in ADHD patients using Nintendo’s popular racing game franchise Mario Kart and real-time neurological data.
